Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the audience for you media product?

Here is a collection of images of what my target audience may look/dress like. Predominately male with hints of punk/skinhead subcultures, however mostly indie and alternative. They are likely to be band members or in touch with the live music scene.

This is my target audience mood board from my planning stages; it shows very much a student lifestyle with interests in drinking, festivals and alternative music. Newer technology products means it would be a good idea for my product to also have a website in order to be convergent and meet my target audiences demands. This relates to zeitgeist, it is a sign of the times for the consumer to be in demand so if they want the product digitally available it would be wise for my products success to make it so.
My demographic is predominately males, students mostly, ages 16-25. The psychographic would be individuals, with a strong interest in alternative music – especially new. They are also likely to play an instrument/be in a band themselves.
Region emphasis would be cities, universities etc. with a main focus in central London, Manchester, Glasgow and Leeds as these are current hotspots for new alternative music within the UK.
The lifestyle subset of my target audience would be indie people, also punks and/or skinheads. Any alternative tastes to mainstream music.
They would be probably unmarried, and working class. They would appreciate and probably have tattoos and piercings and usually posses a unique appearance.
My target audiences are image conscious and they want to look cool and effortless, this will affect the advertisers within my product, as I want them to appeal to my demographic.
My target audience would listen to records, frequently attend gigs and festivals and if they watched TV it would be more alternative shows such as American Horror Story.
My audience would buy my magazine as it would cater to their tastes and preferences, whilst entertaining and informing them.
